Warranty Information

MONACO WINDOWS & DOORS WARRANTY

Our Products. Our Installation. Our Commitment.

At Monaco Windows & Doors, our responsibility doesn’t end when the installation is complete.

We carefully select the products we offer, install them with our own professional team, and provide warranty support should a covered issue arise. Our warranty program combines applicable product coverage with Monaco’s own installation workmanship protection.

Because different products and components have different coverage periods, the details below explain what is covered, for how long, and how to request service.

Vinyl Windows

Long-Term Protection for Your Windows

Qualifying vinyl windows supplied and installed by Monaco include the following warranty coverage:

Component Coverage
White Vinyl Frames & Sashes Limited Lifetime
Window Hardware Limited Lifetime
Insulated Glass – Seal Failure Limited Lifetime
Factory-Painted Vinyl 15 Years
Screens – Punctures & Tears 30 Days
Monaco Installation Workmanship 10 Years
White Vinyl Frames & Sashes

Qualifying white vinyl frame and sash components carry Limited Lifetime coverage against manufacturing defects that cause blistering, peeling, flaking or corrosion under normal use and conditions.

Window Hardware

Qualifying window hardware carries Limited Lifetime coverage against manufacturing defects.

Normal wear, corrosion where excluded by the product warranty, misuse, improper operation, modification, physical damage, tampering and customer-supplied components are not covered.

Insulated Glass

Qualifying insulated glass units carry Limited Lifetime coverage against seal failure.

A seal failure occurs when the insulated glass seal fails and permanent moisture, dust or other contamination develops between the panes.

This coverage is for seal failure—not accidental or physical glass breakage.

Minor visual characteristics that fall within accepted glass-manufacturing tolerances are not considered warrantable defects.

Natural migration of insulating gas over time is also not considered a defect unless it results from a covered seal failure.

Factory-Painted Vinyl

Factory-painted vinyl components are covered for 15 years against qualifying paint defects such as peeling, flaking, cracking or significant uneven discoloration.

Damage resulting from abrasive cleaning products, chemicals, physical damage, improper care or external causes is excluded.

Screens

Punctures or tears in newly supplied window screens must be reported within 30 days of installation or delivery.

Window screens are intended for insect protection and are not safety barriers or fallprevention devices.

Sliding Patio Doors

Qualifying sliding patio doors supplied and installed by Monaco include:

Component Coverage
Vinyl Frame & Sash 25 Years
Insulated Glass – Seal Failure 10 Years
Factory-Applied Exterior Paint 15 Years
Monaco Installation Workmanship & Labour 10 Years
Factory-Installed Mini Blinds 5 Years
Hardware 2 Years

Vinyl Frame & Sash

Insulated Glass

Insulated patio-door glass carries 10-year coverage against seal failure. Physical or accidental glass breakage is not included.

Factory-Applied Exterior Paint

Qualifying factory-applied exterior finishes are covered for 15 years against eligible peeling, cracking or significant uneven discoloration.

Damage caused by chemicals, abrasive materials, improper maintenance, impact or other external causes is excluded.

Mini Blinds

Factory-installed internal mini-blind systems carry 5-year coverage against qualifying manufacturing defects.

Patio Door Hardware

Qualifying patio-door hardware carries 2-year coverage against manufacturing defects.

Damage caused by normal wear, misuse, modification, improper operation, abuse or physical damage is excluded.

Screens

Punctures or tears must be reported within 30 days of installation or delivery.

Screens are intended for insect protection and are not designed as fall-prevention or safety
barriers.

Entry Doors

10-Year Limited Door Slab Warranty

Qualifying entry-door slabs supplied by Monaco carry a 10-Year Limited Warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.

Coverage assumes the door has been properly installed, operated, maintained and finished where applicable.

Entry Door Glass

Qualifying insulated or decorative door glass carries 5-year coverage against seal failure.

Physical or accidental glass breakage is not covered.

Visual imperfections are evaluated according to applicable manufacturing tolerances. Qualifying glass defects must be visible from approximately 1 metre (3 feet).

Important Entry Door Exclusions

Warranty coverage may not apply where damage or failure results from improper maintenance, misuse, vandalism, fire or smoke, chemicals or harmful liquids, unauthorized modifications, improper finishing or other conditions outside normal intended use.

Certain storm-door installations may affect applicable entry-door product coverage.

Monaco 10-Year Installation Workmanship Warranty

Installed by Monaco. Backed by Monaco.

This is where I would make the Monaco warranty stand apart.

For qualifying products professionally installed by Monaco Windows & Doors, we provide a 10-Year Installation Workmanship Warranty beginning on the original installation date.

This warranty protects against eligible problems determined to result directly from Monaco’s installation workmanship.

If our assessment confirms that a covered problem was caused by Monaco’s installation, Monaco will provide the eligible labour required to correct that installation issue at no charge during the 10-year coverage period.

What the Workmanship Warranty Does Not Cover

The workmanship warranty does not cover problems resulting from product manufacturing defects, ordinary wear and aging, building movement or settlement, structural deficiencies, pre-existing building conditions, water originating outside the area or system installed by Monaco, accidental damage, improper use or maintenance, work or alterations performed by another party, or circumstances outside Monaco’s reasonable control.

Product defects are handled according to the applicable product warranty.

General Warranty Exclusions

Warranty protection is intended for defects—not damage caused by normal use, outside conditions or changes to the property.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, coverage does not include normal wear and aging; accidental or physical damage; broken glass; misuse or improper operation; unauthorized alterations or repairs; building settlement or structural movement; pre-existing conditions; improper maintenance; damage from abrasive cleaners or chemicals; excluded corrosion; cosmetic characteristics within accepted manufacturing tolerances; or damage resulting from circumstances outside Monaco’s reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms is intended to remove any consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

When a Covered Product Needs Repair

Depending on the nature of an approved warranty claim, the appropriate solution may involve repairing the affected component, supplying a replacement component, or providing a reasonably equivalent substitute.

Products evolve over time. Colours, finishes, hardware and individual components may eventually be changed or discontinued. If the original item is no longer available, a reasonably comparable replacement may be provided, but an exact appearance or colour match cannot always be guaranteed.

Replacing one covered component does not automatically require replacement of the complete window or door.

Product Coverage vs. Labour Coverage

A product warranty and an installation workmanship warranty are different.

A product warranty may provide a replacement part without including labour, removal, reinstallation, finishing, transportation or a service visit.

Monaco’s 10-Year Installation Workmanship Warranty includes eligible corrective labour when Monaco determines that the covered issue resulted directly from our installation workmanship.

Transfer of Warranty

Some product warranties may be transferable to a subsequent homeowner. Transfer requirements depend on the specific product and applicable warranty program and may require notification shortly after ownership changes.

Monaco’s 10-Year Installation Workmanship Warranty applies to the original purchaser and original installation property unless Monaco confirms otherwise in writing.

Customers purchasing a home containing Monaco products are welcome to contact us to determine what remaining coverage may apply.

How to Request Warranty Service

We’re Here After the Installation, Too.

If something doesn’t seem right, contact Monaco Windows & Doors and we’ll help determine the appropriate next step.

Please provide:

Your name • Installation address • Invoice or contract number, if available • Description of the concern • Clear photos or video

Warranty concerns should be reported as soon as reasonably possible after they are discovered.

Our service team may first review photographs or video and, when necessary, arrange an on-site assessment.

If an inspection determines that the issue is not covered by warranty, a service or inspection fee may apply.

Products From Different Manufacturers

Monaco Windows & Doors supplies products from multiple manufacturers and product lines. Because of this, specific manufacturer-backed coverage can vary depending on the product purchased.

Where manufacturer coverage applies, Monaco can assist with coordinating the warranty process. Manufacturer-backed claims remain subject to the applicable manufacturer’s coverage, exclusions and approval requirements.

Where Monaco provides additional coverage beyond the underlying product warranty, Monaco’s stated coverage applies according to the terms of this warranty.

Your original Monaco contract, product documentation and applicable written warranty should be retained for reference.

A Warranty Is Only Part of the Promise

We believe long-term service is about more than a warranty document.

It’s about answering the phone, understanding the problem, standing behind our installation and being there when our customers need us.

Commercial Quality. Residential Care.

Warranty — Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What does Monaco’s Limited Lifetime Window Warranty cover?

Qualifying vinyl windows include Limited Lifetime coverage on white vinyl frames and sashes, window hardware, and insulated glass units against seal failure. Factory-painted vinyl is covered for 15 years, while screen punctures and tears must be reported within 30 days.

Q. Does “Lifetime Warranty” mean everything is covered for life?

No. Different components have different warranty periods. “Limited Lifetime” applies only to qualifying components specifically identified in the warranty and remains subject to the warranty terms, maintenance requirements and exclusions.

Q. What does the 10-Year Installation Workmanship Warranty cover?

Monaco warrants eligible defects directly resulting from our installation workmanship for 10 years from the original installation date. If an issue is determined to be caused by covered Monaco installation workmanship, eligible labour required to correct that installation defect is provided at no charge during the warranty period.

Q. Is the product warranty the same as the installation warranty?

No. Product warranties cover eligible manufacturing defects in specific components. Monaco’s Installation Workmanship Warranty covers eligible problems directly caused by our installation workmanship. Keeping these separate allows us to clearly determine what type of warranty applies to an issue.

Q. What is covered on painted windows?

Qualifying factory-painted vinyl window components are covered for 15 years against eligible peeling, flaking, cracking or major non-uniform discoloration. Damage caused by chemicals, abrasive cleaners, improper maintenance or physical damage is not covered.

Q. What does the insulated glass warranty cover?

For qualifying vinyl windows, insulated glass units have Limited Lifetime coverage against seal failure. Seal failure generally means failure of the sealed glass unit resulting in permanent moisture, dust or dirt accumulation between the panes. Glass breakage is not considered seal failure.

Q. Is broken or cracked glass covered under warranty?

Generally, no. Accidental or physical glass breakage is not covered unless specifically stated otherwise in writing. A failed insulated-glass seal is different from broken glass and may qualify for warranty coverage.

Q. Are window screens covered?

Screen punctures and tears must be reported within 30 days of delivery or installation. Screens are not designed or intended to prevent falls.

Q. What warranty comes with a Monaco patio door?

Qualifying patio doors include 25-year coverage on vinyl frame and sash components, 15 years on qualifying factory exterior paint, 10 years against insulated-glass seal failure, 10 years of Monaco workmanship and labour coverage, 5 years on factory-installed mini blinds, 2 years on hardware, and 30 days for screen punctures and tears.

Q. What warranty comes with an entry door?

Qualifying entry-door slabs carry a 10-Year Limited Product Warranty against eligible manufacturing defects. Qualifying decorative and insulated glass carries 5-year coverage against seal failure. Glass breakage is not covered.

Q. Are handles, locks and other hardware covered?

Coverage depends on the product. Qualifying window hardware has Limited Lifetime coverage against eligible manufacturing defects, while patio-door hardware is covered for 2 years. Misuse, abuse, modification, corrosion where excluded, normal wear and physical damage are not covered.

Q. Is labour included with every product warranty claim?

Not necessarily. A manufacturer’s product warranty may cover a replacement component without covering removal, installation, finishing, delivery or service-call costs. Monaco’s 10-Year Installation Workmanship Warranty covers eligible labour when the problem is determined to result directly from covered Monaco installation workmanship.

Q. What happens if the original part is no longer available?

Products, colours and components can change over time. If an original component is discontinued, a reasonably comparable replacement may be provided. An exact colour, finish or design match cannot always be guaranteed.

Q. What can void my warranty?

Depending on the product, coverage may be affected by misuse, improper maintenance, modifications, repairs performed by others, improper operation, exposure to harmful chemicals, structural problems or use outside the product’s intended purpose. Certain storm-door installations may also affect entry-door warranty coverage.

Q. Is condensation on my windows covered?

Condensation does not automatically indicate a defective window. Moisture occurring between the panes of a sealed insulated glass unit may indicate seal failure and should be reported. Interior or exterior surface condensation can result from environmental and humidity conditions and is not automatically a warranty defect.

Q. What if the problem is caused by my house rather than the window?

Building movement, settlement, structural deficiencies, pre-existing conditions and water infiltration originating outside Monaco’s installed window or door system are not covered by the Installation Workmanship Warranty.

Q. Is my warranty transferable if I sell my home?

Some manufacturer product warranties may be transferable subject to their specific requirements. Where required, an ownership change may need to be reported within 30 days of closing. Monaco’s 10-Year Installation Workmanship Warranty applies to the original purchaser and property unless Monaco confirms transferability in writing.

Q. How do I make a warranty claim?

Contact Monaco Windows & Doors and provide your name, property address, original invoice or contract number if available, a description of the problem, and clear photos or video showing the issue. Our team will review the information and determine the appropriate next step.

Q. Will Monaco come to my home to inspect a warranty issue?

When necessary, we may arrange an inspection. If the issue is determined not to be covered under warranty, a reasonable service or inspection charge may apply.

Q. How quickly should I report a problem?

Warranty concerns should be reported as soon as reasonably possible after they are discovered. Certain products or manufacturers may have specific reporting deadlines, so waiting can affect warranty eligibility.

Q. Why does Monaco separate manufacturer and installation warranties?

Because we want customers to understand exactly who stands behind each part of the project. Manufacturers provide product/component coverage, while Monaco stands behind our installation workmanship for 10 years.
